Load Management Program

The former SMECO Load Management program was an energy conservation program offered to customer-members with electric water heaters, central air conditioners, and heat pumps.

Participants earned a $5 credit per month on their monthly electric bills for a total of $25 annually. These credits appeared on SMECO electric bills received in June, July, August, September and October.

Water heater customers received $2.50/month for an annual total of $30. Participants with a load management switch on more than one water heater or air conditioner received the applicable credits for each connection.
